Kedarnath Dham Yatra

Day 01: Delhi – Hardwar ( 210 Kms, 05-06 Hrs Drive)

Arrive Delhi and transfer to Haridwar by Road,lunch enroute . On arrival in Haridwar, Check in Hotel to relax. Evening free or visit Har Ki Pauri. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

HARIDWAR:

Haridwar, lying at the feet of Shiva’s hills, i.e. Shivaliks, in the Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance here to salvage the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage Kapila. The penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth forms Lord Shiva’s locks and its bountiful water revived the sixty thousand sons of king Sagara. In the traditional of Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in the sacred waters here, praying for salvation of their departed elder. It is doorway to the sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna, 3000 to 4500 meters up into the snowy ranges of the central Himalayas. The ‘Aarti’ worship of the Ganga after sunset and the floating ‘dia’ (lamp) is a moving ritual.

Day 02: Haridwar – Rudraprayag , (165 kms/ 6hrs)

Morning visit Haridwar Local Sight Seeing, later drive to Rudraprayg enroute visit Deoprayag. On Arr. Rudraprayag, Check in Hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 03: Rudrprayag – Gaurikund – Kedarnath

Morning drive to Gaurikund, Trek start from Gaurikund to Kedarnath (3584 mts) on foot or on by pony / Doli. Tour members should carry personal medicines, heavy woolen, tolietteries and clothes for an overnight halt at Kedarnath. Check in Hotel. Later visit Kedarnath Temple. Over night stay at Kedarnath.

KEDARNATH TEMPLE:

The present temple built in 8th Century A.D. by Adi Guru Shankaracharya lies adjacent to the site of an ancient temple built by Pandavas. The temple has a conical lingam – the main idol, a statue of Nandi – the celestial bull, a ‘Garba Grah’ for worship and a man dap for assemblies of pilgrims and visitors. The temple is more than 1000 years old.

Day 04: Kedarnath – Rudraprayag

Early morning, pilgrims after Darshan of Kedarnath Temple. Return back to Gaurikund & Drive straight to Rudrprayag. Check in Hotel. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Day 05: Rudraprayag – Hardwar (160 kms/ 5hrs)

Drive to Hardwar, enroute visit Rishikesh Local Sight Seeing (Ram Jhulla, Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Parmarth Niketan, Shivananda Ashram & Gita Kutir). Arrive in Haridwar, transfer to Hotel. overnight stay at Haridwar.

Day 06: Haridwar – Delhi (230kms/6hr)

Morning visit Hardwar Local Sight Seeing. Afternoon drive to Delhi Drop at Railway Station/Airport.

    ABOUT CHARDHAM YATRA

    Char Dham is referred to the four Hindu religious sites in Uttarakhand state of India. These are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. Nestled in the lap of majestic Himalayas, these four sites are the epicenter of religious activity in north India. Traditionally, the Chardham yatra is undertaken from the west to the east. Thus, the yatra starts from Yamunotri, then proceeding to Gangotri and finally to Kedarnath and Badrinath.
